Duluth police, fire combination raises many questions

Rules set passenger limits, driving curfews for young drivers

For the first six months they have their licenses, Minnesota drivers ages 16 and 17 may not drive between midnight and 5 a.m. and may have only one passenger younger than 20; work and school exceptions exist.

Review: Finnish plays translate into something funnier than the originals

Director Brian Matuszak’s specialty is slapstick, but the three one-act comedies, translated from Finnish, presented Thursday at the Proctor Area Community Center, don’t afford many opportunities for pratfalls and spit takes. Making do with what he’s got to work with, Matuszak stages them with a degree of physicality that would have, in their original productions, had the performers hospitalized for hysteria or demonic possession.

Northland Summer Destination: Hill Annex Mine

Take a boat ride tour looking back at 100 years of mining history in the small town of Calumet. To get to the boat, bus through the old shops and factories where iron ore was processed. Some of the machinery and conveyer belts still sit where they were left when operations stopped 30 years ago.
